Shot in collaboration with Moda Operandi
So…what exactly is a Trunkshow you may ask? Well, since I tend to be impatient, I have become quite an expert on trunkshows.
Here is the rundown, think instant, early access at your fingertips to shop runway styles direct from designers before they hit stores.
In essence you get to shop the drop online at Moda Operandi, before it’s available anywhere else and reserve your item.
In my opinion, Moda Operandi has really mastered the art of the Trunkshow. Shop a who’s who of your favorite designers, discover new emerging talents and get first dibs to shop the best of next season.
From a personal perspective, I often look to Moda Operandi for inspiration and a fashion forecast of what is happening next season to stay ahead of the curve. I’m not one to follow trends and have a pretty strong point of view, but when your esthetic is composed of pieces rooted in minimalism and a tonal color palette like mine, you rely on new ideas to avoid being redundant. Think statement silhouettes, items with volume and play on proportions, interesting details in construction and cut and unique pieces.
I curated my wishlist wardrobe below, keeping this concept in mind. Pulling from the current Moda Operandi Trunkshows you will find statement sleeves, exaggerated handles, lots of leather, lace and studs, as well as my ongoing love-affair with polka-dots going strong. You will also find the Isabel Marant top I am wearing here available to pre-order, it’s no exaggeration that this may be my all-time favorite statement top ever…
Included 3 of my favorite current Moda Operandi Trunkshows below, Magda Butrym, Petar Petrov and Isabel Marant.
