In an effort to downsize, minimize and simplify, I have approached my wardrobe with a less is more mentality for quite sometime.
I have never been a, more is more girl, and always opted for fewer, better pieces. While I don’t want to break the bank in every category, I do make a conscious effort to invest in classics and what I consider my forever pieces.
And with that said, cue your new essentials checklist, a sort of basics starter pack. But these are no ordinary basics.
These go beyond basics, are elevated-in-every-way and are the perfect base for any wardrobe.
Think denim, knits, coats, boots and cross bags, all from mytheresa.com and all elevated of course!
It can be argued that the foundation of any good wardrobe could start with the perfect pair of jeans.
I have a few pairs of denim in rotation but none have hit the mark quite as well as these by The Row that I’m wearing here and these by Citizens of Humanity…both in rotation at an even 50/50 split right now.
Another item on my must-have essentials list, is a a multi-purpose coat. I need it to dress up, dress down and have warmth without the weight (and don’t confuse weight with volume, I’m a firm believer in the bigger the better ;) In this case, I found my match in the Max Mara Iconic Teddy coat which I have posted…a lot…¬†For me, this one coat encompasses the needs of so many coats, all in one. This is why, while it’s pricey, I can justify the initial price tag and see the value long term and for years to come.
My key essentials do change seasonally of course, but my philosophy on essentials never waiver.
I stick to classic silhouettes, rely on heritage brands and luxury labels with uncompromising quality for investment pieces and stick to shopping at retailers I trust like mytheresa.com. I want options, easy shopping, free returns and fast shipping.
