Forever Leather Weather

Shot in Partnership with Everlane

Leather Weather

I’m a firm believer that regardless of season, regardless of weather, there is always an opportunity to inject a little leather in my look.

Cue my new Modern Leather Jacket from Everlane. But this is no ordinary leather jacket.
This wardrobe staple is fully traceable…a term I have just been introduced to and love the concept, but I’ll get to that ; )

An icon in the making, Everlane’s first ever leather jacket is as timeless as they come. Reminiscent of vintage leather jackets, it features classic design notes like front zip, pointy collar and clean and minimal silhouette. Fits true to size so take your usual size, while I opted to size up one size for a slouchier fit to wear with thick hoodies and knits.

As always with the Everlane ethos, sustainability, quality and radical transparency are always top of mind. This leather jacket features a recycled lining and is made with ultra soft premium leather that is fully traceable from the farm to the tannery to the garment factory. How cool is that? Just the tannery alone is a leader in sustainability, recycling up to 70% of it’s water and practices zero waste efforts by turning leather scraps into shoe insoles…In an industry that focus heavily on fashion and trend…I thought it was important to highlight and mention the lesser known facts “behind the scenes” that may not get much attention.

I’m not perfect, but I am always striving to curb my own, personal waste footprint and make better buying decisions. To me, this means replacing toxic products with more healthful and planet friendly alternatives as they run out, shopping for fewer, better things in general, educating myself as a consumer and supporting companies that are making similar strides in their own fields. Love what Everlane represents and is doing to make a difference in the fashion industry.
